Awesome course, Typical Pete Dye design with the bumps and hills in the fairways! Friendly staff, course was in GREAT shape! Will definitely be back

Absolutely the best public course in the area! Pro Shop staff and grounds crew do an awesome job. Too bad VB City Council plans to give it away to a developer to destroy. Won't be here much longer. The great Pete Dye is spinning in his grave. Enjoy VB National while you can!

I play here almost every day. Beautiful course, peaceful nature, deer, wild turkeys, and so many beautiful birds. One of my favorite places to spend time. β³οΈπ¦π¦π¦

This course seems to have been something special in the past, but It's nothing special anymore. The course was in good condition but it definitely doesn't justify the $100+ price. This was our second time playing here in a year (out of state visitors) and the worst part about both experiences has been the service. These guys are 2/2 for providing similarly terrible service. Pro shop staff was not friendly at all and looked at me like a had a third eye because I asked if they provide beverage coolers for the carts. He also seemed to be annoyed that I had to ask about keys for the golf carts. Let me tell you, a little friendly customer service basics can go a long way. This is also the second time where we golfed in 90 degree weather and the water stations were empty. We came across the beverage cart after hole 2 and we're told she'd be making rounds the rest of the afternoon. Well, we never saw her again on the course but did see her packing up the cart supplies at the turn. We're trying to spend money and they just didn't want it. There might not be many other courses around that are better than Virginia National, but I've never been to one with worse service. Save yo

A great layout, wide open (to an extent) with lots of water makes this a very beautiful course to play. Course was maintained relatively well. The greens are FAST. At least compared to other courses in the area as well as courses where I am from (different state). Like, touch it and it goes 10 ft'. It was very windy which added to the difficulty. It's not an easy course, but it is fun. Also, the carts are either brand new or close to it. Fantastic carts with great padded seats and seatbacks. If your in VA Beach and wanting to golf - this is the place to go.
